Does anyone pay for an independent certified annual audit of your local? Who do you use? What does it cost? Thanks Gentlemen, Aaron Adams President, Palatine Local 4588 (847)452-6626 Palatine Firefighters LOCAL = 4588 asquard1@sbcglobal.net ________________________________________________________________________________ We are looking for any departments that use a "Psychological Promotional Assessment" for promotional tests. Our current contract calls for an independent company to conduct the assessment. Our Chief is employed by the company we were going to use which would make them not quite as "independent" as we would like. Any information good or bad about any of these companies would be appreciated. We are not looking for a tactical assessment center. John Morse Elmhurst L3541 630-514-7014 local3541treas@yahoo.com | | | | | | Palatine Local 4588 is still working through our first contract. The Labor Board recently ruled our Captains are in the unit. Now that we have that behind us we have a proposal for a testing process regarding the position but would like to compare it to others in existence. Please let me know if any of you have a testing procedure for Captains in your contract or if you have thoughts on components, weights, objective v. subjective, etc. Thanks Gentlemen. Aaron Adams, President L4588 (847)452-6626 | After a long battle with the City, Lisa Moss and Local 439 prevailed in Vacation pay payout for a member who retired under PEDA – The award is attached for you to review – If you have any questions please feel free to contact Local 439 President John P. Fahy at 847-337-8362 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- _________________________________________________________ Brothers, If you have received a line of duty disability pension and are subsequently receiving insurance benefits under the Illinois Public Safety Employee Benefits Act please contact me. I am involved in a suit against my past employers and would like to establish a data pool of facts. Please contact me at d924fd@aol.com or 708-491-9132 . Thank you and be safe. Lt. David J Martin, Retired Oak Forest Fire Department 70... (cell) 70... (home) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Our department in instituting a new directive requiring code 2 (no lights and siren) response to certain "lower priority" alarms. There is also a provision to transport to the hospital code 2. My concern is in the event of an accident while responding to a 911 call or alarm activation, are we at any greater liability risk if we do not have our lights and siren activated? Also, I was wondering if there is any case law of an ambulance driver or engineer being denied line of duty disability from an accident where they did not have lights and siren activated. Thank You.
